This non-invasive, simple lash service permanently curls the natural eyelashes, both ridding liftees of the need for eyelash curlers, and waking up droopy eyes. But like any new service—particularly one that affects the eye area—you want to know exactly what you’re dealing with. So we’ve answered some Lash Lift FAQs to put your questions to rest, and help you decide if a lash lift is right for you.
What is a lash lift and tint?
A lash lift and tint is a non-invasive lash service that uses cream solutions to permanently “lift” and tint the eyelashes. Lash lifting is essentially a new-age lash perm that uses cream-based products and silicone shields to curl natural eyelashes—eliminating the need for traditional eyelash curlers. Unlike old school lash perms, which use barrel rollers and give lashes a tight and unnatural curl, lash lifts use silicone shields to lift the natural lashes upward, simultaneously giving height, length and volume. Lash tints often accompany lash lifts (although a tint may be done on its own) and darkens the natural lashes. When a lash lift and tint are used together, they replace the need for daily eyelash curling and mascara.
Are lash lifts safe?
When provided by trained and experienced technicians, lash lifts are safe. Unlike traditional lash perms, our SugarLash Pro Lash Lift products are cream-based, so they are easy to control and won’t run into the eyes the way liquid solutions would.
How long does a lash lift last?
Traditionally, a lash lift lasts around 6-8 weeks. During a lash lift, natural eyelash are permanently curled and lifted upward. However, as mature eyelashes naturally shed and new lashes grow in, you’ll reach a point where you have enough new growth to need another lash lift. This usually happens after 6-8 weeks.
Are lash lifts worth it?
Absolutely! Lash lifts are an extremely low-maintenance lash service that curl natural eyelashes for up to 8 weeks and require virtually no aftercare. Are lash lifts safe during pregnancy?
As with any beauty service, pregnant or breastfeeding women should speak with a physician before getting a lash lift. Lash lifting products do not touch the skin, however, if a reaction or sensitivity was to occur during or following the service, pregnant women may not be permitted to treat it with antihistamines or other medications. Pregnancy has also been known to affect the growth rate, and texture, of hair and eyelashes, so pregnant guests may experience less lift than usual.
